Completed My First Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccination At World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur

 Dear Readers,

I'm Doing My Part To Take The COVID-19 Vaccination Under The 2nd Batch Registration

Taken My First Dose of AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine At WTC, Kuala Lumpur
As of the time this entry was written, there are a total of 13,789,736 Malaysians have registered themselves to be part of the National COVID-19 Immunization Program that coordinated by Yang Berhormat Haji Khairy Jamaluddin, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).
Statistics For The National COVID-19 Immunization Program As Of 15th June 2021 (Source: https://www.vaksincovid.gov.my/en/statistics/)
Just for references, the immunization program in Malaysia has been implemented in phases starting from 24th February 2021 and is estimated to be completed by February 2022. The program kick-started with vaccination provided to our healthcare workers and frontliners under Phase 1 (26th February 2021 to April 2021), followed by high-risk groups, including elderly people and comorbidity under Phase 2 (April 2021 to August 2021) and currently we are in the Phase 3 (May 2021 to February 2022) that open for adults aged 18 and above where the registration happened on the 26th May 2021. The final phase will open for workers in critical industries starting from 14th June 2021

I still remember the tension that happened on the 26th May 2021 when the program is open for registration at 12.15 P.M. for those that lives in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sarawak and Johor! I am truly blessed when I manage to book myself a slot for the vaccination. It started with a disappointment as I do not receive any confirmation at first but the next morning, I received a notification from MySejahtera for my appointment.
Vaccination Appointment In MySejahtera
To be honest, I have a mixed feeling during that time whether to confirm my appointment or not in MySejahtera app. I am not an anti-vac but just not so sure about the vaccines as we have been reading all kinds of news, the pros and cons of taking this vaccine. At the end, I took the courage to confirm the registration for future betterment.

And finally today on the 14th June 2021, the day that I have been counting down has finally arrived. My 1st dose appointment was at the World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur at 5.00 P.M. I took half day off just for this appointment, it might sound funny but yes, it is for me to calm my nerve down and I can't even sleep well the night before.

My entire vaccination process was so smooth from the moment I arrived until I took the photo at the booth. Besides playing my own part, a total hats off to all the frontliners that took part in controlling the crowds, assisting and guiding everyone in the facilities for those in need, clear labeling and systematic arrangement and last but not least, my salute to the professionalism to all the frontliners.
Arrival At The Entrance Of WTC Kuala Lumpur At 4.41 P.M.
Be sure to study all the information in the appointment section and get to know which station you are assigned to, to receive the vaccine jab. For me, I will be taking my vaccination at Station 1, just follow the labeling and walk toward the Station 1 waiting area. No worries because along the way, there will be frontliners on duty checking and validating on your MySejahtera app to ensure that you won't end up at the wrong station and your appointment is valid.

It took me around 3 minutes to walk from the entrance to reach the Station 1 waiting area. Upon arrival at this waiting station, there will be a MySejahtera QR Code to be scanned. Here, the frontliner will be giving short briefing such as the location of the vaccination, for example Station 1 will be taking the jab at Level 4 Dewan Tun Razak, WTC Kuala Lumpur, the color coding on MySejahtera apps, etc.
Holding Area Before Entering The Vaccination Hall
Holding Area For Station 1
With less than 5 minutes waiting, we were instructed to follow one of the frontliner that will be leading us to the vaccination hall. Instead of heading to Level 4, he led us to the hall that located at Ground Floor. Here, two forms were given to us and we will need to fill it up. Make sure you fill up both forms.

Just fill up your name, identification card number, you AGREE to take the vaccination and do not sign the form yet! Once completed, you will be directed to the first check point, the "Validation Counter" where there will be frontliner to validate your name and I/C number with your identification card. So, remember to bring your IC with you.
COVID-19 Consent Form
After validation at this checkpoint, just proceed to the desk behind, the "Consultation Counter" where consultation will be provided here. Your form will be signed by the frontliner at this counter and if you have any inquiry, you can ask them here. For me, I do not have any health concern or other related issue to be clarified and ready to receive my vaccination jab.

Just move forward to the "Vaccination Counter", the frontliner will re-validating to confirm all details are correct where you will need to read it out your name and IC number. Then, they will show you the vaccine brand that you will be taking, together with the measurement. After the jab, they will show you again the syringe for validation purpose that you have receive the full 1st dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Validation Counter, Consultation Counter and Vaccination Counter In Vaccination Hall
After the jab, you will need to use your phone to scan the QR Code to capture the vaccine information and update it in MySejahtera. Once all necessary information has been successfully captured, you will need to proceed to the Observation counter.

At the Observation Counter, frontliner will issue you the vaccination card which you need to keep properly for the 2nd dose appointment. Same goes to the 2nd form that you have filled up earlier. I have been informed to wait for my next appointment that going to happen within 12 weeks from now.

As final part of the first dose appointment, I am allow to leave the facilities after 15 minutes of observation. That's it!
Vaccination Card
I do not have any symptoms after the jab and hope that I will have any serious issue. At 1.31 A.M. on the 15th June 2021, the point of injection just showing bit of soreness and my body temperature is still normal. I will keep updating my progress from time to time in this entry.
Observation Counter. Stay Here For 15 Minutes.
I completed my first dose of #CucukMyAZ vaccination even ahead of the schedule. My appointment was suppose to be at 5.00 P.M but I already reach the observation counter at 4.56 P.M. I would say the entire process was so smooth without any problem. For now, I just need to wait for my 2nd dose appointment.

Oh yes, just a reminder that even you have received your vaccine, please continue to observe all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), wear mask, sanitize your hand frequently and continue to observe social distancing. Stay home except you really have essential tasks to be completed.

I am still observing #LockdownKendiri #StayHomeStaySafe to support the call from our government.
