Kwai Chai Hong Returns With The Latest Art Installation 'Beyond The Moonlit Door'

Mid Autumn Festival is around the corner with just 16 days ahead where we will be celebrating it on the 15th day of the 8th month of Lunar Calendar with a full moon at night. 

 

This festive day will fall on the 10th of September 2022 and we believe that the Moon is at its brightest and fullest size in the middle of the Autumn season.

 

As this is one of the important celebrations for the Chinese community just on par with the Lunar Chinese New Year, Kwai Chai Hong returns to surprise us by introducing its charming latest art installation with the theme 'Beyond The Moonlit Door 超月门窗', a passage through time with doors and windows.

Kwai Chai Hong would like to welcome everyone to visit this picture-worthy laneway that has been transformed and charmed with the oriental doors and windows that are presented with a twist. 

Every seasonal installation has its own message to be told! Similarly to this 'Beyond The Moonlit Door', it is a note to self to learn from the past, embrace the present and seize opportunities in the future. 

These doors symbolize the many opportunities and hopes that life has to offer, and those who take action will reap its benefits.

Beside the moonlit doors and windows, there is an art installation called 'Endless Frame' installed at the main entrance to welcome you and this is an artwork collaboration between Kwai Chai Hong and the award-winning architectural designer and artist, Pamela Tan from Poh Sin Studio.

The Endless Frame stars hundreds of intricate laser-cut acrylic sheets hung at various lengths creating an illusion of time travel as visitors walk through this cavern-like portal which references traditional Chinese wooden doors and windows.

This serves as a reminder to preserve the Chinese cultural heritage amidst a rapidly changing world. This passageway reflects the change in time while projecting a bountiful hope and optimism for a brighter future at the other end of the bridge.

In my journey as an architectural designer and artist, I value experiences that allow me to take part in the community which essentially is about sharing responsibility. said Pamela Tan.

 

Kwai Chai Hong is able to freeze the time for us to appreciate the past and welcome the future. With this collaboration opportunity, Pamela Tan hoped that her artwork able to interact with the surroundings while engaging with visitors for a captivating experience to celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival.

About Bai Chuan Management Sdn Bhd
